CAREER DAY AT MUMFORD HIGH SCHOOL
MM-O-DD set up an interactive opportunity for the 600+ students from Mumford High School and the Mumford Academy to engage and learn of the various Design Industry direct pathways and careers available. We also asked if a Design Lab during school hours was formed would any of the students be interested, and 24 people signed a form listing their specific goal to learn. The sustainability in design panel discussion in April 2017 was co-hosted by MM-O-DD and Global Ties>Detroit. Project JUST co-Founder Shahd AlShehail along with experts Bena Burga of Maggie's Organics and Julia Rhodes of Rebel Nell brought insight into the awareness of the ethical practices available in the Garment Design Industry. The programming located at the Waterview Lofts at Port Detroit, was free to the public.
