About
CONDUCT BECOMING
Conduct Becoming is a portrait photography series by CJ Breil honoring veterans from diverse branches and eras of military service. Featuring more than 100 images, the series captures veterans in their present-day environments, often within the intimacy of their own homes or living spaces, alongside reproductions of their original military portraits.

Mission
THE PHOTOGRAPHER
CJ Briel approaches portraiture as a means of connection and storytelling. Through Conduct Becoming, Briel documents veterans not simply as subjects, but as individuals whose histories deserve to be seen, remembered, and understood.
The series encourages viewers to pause, look closely, and recognize the humanity within each portrait.
Past. Present. Service. Self.
